My itinerary for the day. Feel free to follow it on your own someday but do it soon, before Coney Island becomes just another sterile Amusement Park or condo development.

Here is the itinerary for a fine day at Coney Island. Meet on Surf Avenue in front of Nathan’s at about11:30 am

* Famous Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest 12 noon
* Lunch whenever
* Freak show 1pm or 2pm
* Hang out on beach till 4 or 5pm
* Boardwalk or Aquarium 4pm or 5pm
* Dinner around 6pm or whenever
* Rides 8pm or whenever
* Fireworks on the beach 9pm
* Go home whenever

Since 1980, Coney Island USA has told the story of why Coney Island is important enough to one day retake its place at the cultural center of New York. The Coney Island Museum is at the heart of that mission. Its the only public repository documenting the history and culture of this important neighborhood. We fight to keep the history of this critical piece of American popular culture from being lost to the inevitable changes facing Coney Island today.
