Rocco Forte is boasting its spa portfolio unveiled plans to open a new golf and spa resort in Sicily. The Verdura Golf and Spa Resort is scheduled to open in 2009 on the southern coast of the island in the small village Verdura. It is only one hour from Palermo airport and 30km from Agrigento and the Temple Valley.

The luxury Golf and Spa resort is being designed by Denton Corker Marshall at an estimated cost of Euros 129 million, of which a large part will be spent invested in restoring several existing buildings to reflect the character and history of Sicily whilst still maintaining a high level of sophistication and luxury.

The 200-room and 50-suite resort will incorporate two champion 18-hole golf courses, a 9-hole golf course, sports facilities and a real estate development as well as a 2000sq m hydrotherapy Luxury Spa which is being designed by Kyle Phillips. It will consist of 16 treatment rooms, 3 hydrotherapy rooms, 5 thalassotherapy pools, gym, large swimming pool and a dietetic restaurant.

The Rocco Forte Collection already boasts successful Spa resorts in Germany, Belgium, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, England and Russia.
