New York City unveiled the first section of its new park which is suspended over Manhattans busy streets. Using the EL or High Line rails, first built in 1929 to get freight trains off the streets. Supporters created the vision and it is now a reality. The park, located in the trendy meat packing district, stretches from Gansevoort St for about 9 blocks north, the next section is to open in 2010. Operating hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. For now, its a people only park, no pets. See more here
